G.H. Hat has now announced the release of a Japanese Lyric Version of “Sukiyaki”, featuring Japanese Super Star Eriko Tamura. The song has the same musical composition as the lead track from G.H. Hat’s 10 track collection of remixed versions of his “Sukiyaki”, but sung in Japanese it has an entirely different vocal arrangement than the English track. About Sukiyaki, “Ue o Muite Aruko” (I Look Up As I Walk)

This is a Pop/Dance remake of “Sukiyaki”. The song reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the United States in 1963, one of the few non-Indo-European language songs to have done so. G.H. Hat’s English versions were released 4/6/2018 and were on Billboard’s DANCE CLUB SONGS (TOP 50) for 10 weeks with a peak position of number 19.

“Sukiyaki” is one of the best-selling singles of all time, having sold over thirteen million copies worldwide. The original Kyu Sakamoto recording also went to number 18 on the R&B chart. In addition, the single spent five weeks at number one on the Middle of the Road charts.

About Eriko Tamura (featured vocalist)

Japanese Super Star Singer/Actress Eriko Tamura has an impressive list of credits and accomplishments in her native Japan as well as in the United States. Eriko’s acting debut was in the Toei feature film, Flowerly Afternoon. This role coincided with her winning a celebrated American Idol-esque competition in Japan at the age of 13. Having played the lead in over 20 films and television series since then, her life would become the basis for a beloved anime series entitled: Legendary Idol Eriko, which has been translated into six languages and syndicated world-wide.

Eriko has also released 10 original albums and 18 singles with record label EMI. She has toured all over Japan, giving sold out concert performances in such venues as the prestigious Nippon Budokan.

Shortly after coming to America, she was cast in the NBC smash-hit “Heroes”. Her tough but vulnerable performance as Princess Yaeko attracted the attention of the producers of the Dragonball Evolution movie for FOX, who then cast her as sexy villainess, Mai. This role would lead to her joining the cast of the CW comedy, Reaper, in the recurring role of Kristen.

Today Eriko is focused on an additional role – that of fundraiser – for the people affected by the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in Japan – she founded the Help Japan Recover Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the survivors of this tragedy, and continues to devote time, money and resources to helping the people in the affected areas of Japan rebuild their lives.

About GOW (background vocalist – chorus)

GOW is a Singer/TV talent/Actress in Japan. She is known globally for her appearance in the Japanese sci-fi series ULTRAMAN GAIA. Focusing on her musical carrier she has won several medals for contests such as WCOPA (World Championship of Performing Arts) etc. and also remained as a finalist at the NY Apollo theater Amateur Night. GOW is now working on her 3rd Album due to be released this Autumn.

About Eigo.GAIKEI (background vocalist – bridge)

Formed in 2010, Eigo.GAIKEI came together on the streets of Aoyama inTokyo, Japan. That is where Eigo.I was introduced to the inspirational music crowds and met his band member GAIKEI Mark. Together they are part of the Tokyo’s cutting-edge growing indie and international music scene. EIGO.I is a singer songwriter (his guitar list name is Eigo Ikematsu). In March 2007, he had his CD debut with the song “Tsuiteru”. He is highly appreciated as a melody maker. He had a major debut with music provision from Tokuma Japan Communications in 2009. He loves making melodies that are loved regardless of age and sex. GAIKEI Mark (vocals, piano, track maker) grew up in Tokyo, Japan. He moved to the US to attend High School in Arizona in 1991 and moved back to Tokyo to pursue a career in computer engineer. After building a career as successful engineer and graphic designer, he transitioned to focus on entertainment and music in 2010 and has been loving life ever since.
