He shared a photo of himself on the Yosemite National Park landmark taken by Jimmy Chin of <a class=\"colorbox\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.com\/adventure\/features\/athletes\/alex-honnold\/most-dangerous-free-solo-climb-yosemite-national-park-el-capitan\/\">National Geographic<\/a>, which is basing a new documentary on Saturday&#8217;s climb.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Speechless,&#8221; wrote the <a class=\"colorbox\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/americanalpinejournal\/posts\/847401835399393\">American Alpine Journal<\/a> in its response to the news that Honnold had tackled the imposing 3,000-foot granite wall in a &#8220;free-solo,&#8221; ascent, climbing alone and without safety gear.<\/p>\n<p>Honnold raced up the wall in 3 hours and 56 minutes, prompting <a class=\"colorbox\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Alpinist\/posts\/10153891347932706\">Alpinist <\/a>magazine to say, &#8220;This is indisputably the greatest free solo of all time. Congratulations, Alex!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This man,&#8221; Honnold&#8217;s friend and fellow climbing star <a class=\"colorbox\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ConradAnkerOfficial\/photos\/a.161110693925766.23619.143199022383600\/1315029598533864\/?type=3&amp;theater\">Conrad Anker<\/a> wrote on Facebook. &#8220;Respect.
